Historic First Winner of the 2020 Bonus Ball Initiative

Historic First Winner of the 2020 Bonus Ball Initiative

The 2020 Festival Bonus Ball Initiative was launched towards the end of June 2014. It has the potential to be an important, ongoing fundraising activity for the Festival between now and 2020.

The concept is simple. The competition is based around each Saturday's National Lottery draw. Every entrant pays a mere £10 to be allocated a Bonus Ball number for a 10 week game. Once the game commences, if your allocated number matches a Bonus Ball on any Saturday in the 10 week game, you win £25! Additionally, £4 of your entry fee is credited against your name towards the 2020 Festival! This means that not only do participants have an additional interest in the Lottery Draw every Saturday but all participants increase their personal contribution to the 2020 Festival and, most importantly, we continue to support the magnificent work of the Mark Benevolent Fund.

It was therefore with much anticipation that participants watched the Bonus Ball draw on Saturday 19 July, everyone wanting to be the historic, first winner of the Bonus Ball Initiative. Of course, there could only be one first winner and that accolade goes to Bro George Delves of Erdemont Mark Lodge 1894.

Our Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Archie Torrance, is keen to see as many Kent Mark Masons as possible supporting the initiative, so much so, in fact, that he was pleased to present the first winner's cheque in person to Bro George. The Provincial Grand Master said "I'm truly grateful to Bro George and everybody else, who has supported the Bonus Ball Initiative so far. I am optimistic that this will be an important part of the fundraising for the 2020 Festival and hope to see many more participants in the coming weeks".
