A Monumental Night At Folkestone Mark No.380

It truly was a monumental evening on Tuesday January 16th 2018 at Folkestone Mark Lodge No. 380 when W. Bro. Ivor Spencer, a monumental stonemason by trade and one of the Province's Lead Ambassadors advanced his sons James and Paul, both of who are also stonemasons, into the degree.

He was assisted by the boys’ great uncle who was in one of the key offices. In addition, stonework made by the boys’ late grandfather, and bearing his mark, was used in the ceremony.

During his visit to the Lodge to mark such a rare occasion, R.W. Bro. Archie Torrance PGM was pleased to present the Mark Lodge with a 2020 Festival Bronze Award (having donated an average of £200 per member) and the R.A.M. Lodge with a Silver Award (having donated an average of £225 per member). Both of which are wonderful achievements.

To cap things off, W. Bro. Ivor presented the Provincial Grand Master with a cheque for a further £1,000 towards the Kent Mark 2020 Festival for the Mark Benevolent Fund. It won’t be long before both Lodges achieve Platinum Award status.
