Important Announcement - Provincial Grand Almoner

Last month, W. Bro. Paul Settle MBE was appointed as Provincial Grand Almoner to succeed W. Bro. David Barden who retired in September 2019. W. Bro. Paul has been Provincial Grand Almoner for the Royal Arch in East Kent for the last four years and was well suited to the role being offered in the Mark Province of Kent. However, having taken time to reflect upon the two roles and, taking account of the work commitment, the difficult decision has been made for Paul to withdraw from the Mark Provincial Grand Almoner role.

Whilst it is disappointing that Paul is unable to carry on as planned, we shall not be losing him and I look forward to investing him as Provincial Grand Junior Warden in September.

Provincial Grand Almoner

I am pleased to announce that our new Provincial Grand Almoner will be W. Bro. Peter Hayler who is currently our Provincial Assistant Grand Charity Steward, a role that I introduced to assist during the busiest years of the 2020 Festival for the Mark Benevolent Fund.

Peter will bring considerable experience, skills, commitment and enthusiasm to his new role, which he will take up with immediate effect. I shall formally invest him at the earliest opportunity.

I am sure Peter will do a super job as Provincial Grand Almoner and will help us develop the role as part of our new Provincial Welfare Committee. Please do give him your full support.
