Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Kent
Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master to become Regional Head of Order

Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master To Become Regional Head Of OrderIt has been announced that V. W. Bro. David Green, PPDGM is to become Head of the Region of Kent for The Operatives.

The Operatives, or more accurately The Society of Free Masons, Rough Masons, Wallers, Slaters, Paviors, Plaisterers, and Bricklayers, exists to perpetuate or preserve a memorial of the practices of Operative Free Masons existing prior to, or continuing independently of, modern speculative Freemasonry. It is composed of seven degrees which expand on, and add to, the ceremonies of Craft, Mark and Royal Arch Chapter. In particular they reflect what might reasonably be considered as the way Masonry was in pre-union times. Qualification for membership is Master Mason, Mark Master Mason and Royal Arch Companion.

Regalia is minimal and consists simply of a blue cord or collarette from which is suspended the jewel of one’s rank. Jewels are exchanged as progression is made.

Locally the Order is currently grouped into a Region described as the South East Counties. However, when the Grand Assemblage next meets on the 22nd September, it will be officially announced that the county of Kent will be separated into its own Region with our own Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master as its head - Rt. W. Bro. David Green, VII°.

The new Region of Kent will be composed of three Assemblages (as the units are described) namely: Leeds Castle - Chatham, Reculver Towers - Whitstable and Chislehurst Caves - Bromley.
