Dear Brethren, It is that time of year when we are all busy thinking about chestnuts roasting on an open fire, mulled wine, seasonal festivities and time spent with family and friends. May I therefore take a few moments to wish you and your loved ones all the best for a happy and enjoyable Christmas.

The year 2018 has been one full of hard work by many of you and I am truly grateful for your continued support for your Lodges and the Mark Province of Kent. I believe our highest priority is to enjoy our Masonry and one way to do this is to see that Mark Masonry in Kent returns to a period of growth with more members and stronger Lodges. Our Provincial Membership Committee, led by Fred Brown, has embarked on a comprehensive programme of work, which I would encourage you all to support. You can play your part by asking your friends to come into the Mark Degree. You all know how enjoyable and friendly it is so why not allow others to share in our enjoyment.

I hope you will all put Saturday 13th June 2020 in your diaries. We shall be hosting the 152nd Annual Festival for the Mark Benevolent Fund in the Maidstone Exhibition Hall at Kent Showground (Detling). The theme is ‘Kent – The Garden of England’ and we are planning a spectacular occasion, with professional entertainment, that will live long in the memory. It will be another 35 years before Kent has the opportunity to host an MBF Festival so please don’t miss out on this 2020 Festival Result & Gala Dinner.

So, as the end of the year approaches, please have a wonderful time with those dear to you and celebrate all that we have achieved together.

I am proud to have been your Provincial Grand Master for the last five years and I very much look forward to the future.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. Oh, and of course a very Happy Hogmanay.

Yours aye,
Archie
