Many of you, especially those present at the recent Provincial Officers’ Mess, will know that my niece, Ashleigh Torrance, took part in the Melaka Sprint Triathlon in Malaysia on 28th April, where she finished an amazing 2nd out of 57 entrants in her category.

I would like to convey the sincere thanks of Ashleigh and our whole family to members of the Province for the wonderful donations made in support of her. As a result of many kind donations from members of the Province, she raised a wonderful £4,700 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in memory of our son Gary, we really appreciate your support.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition affecting more than 10,400 people in the UK. You are born with CF and cannot catch it later in life, but one in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.

Thank you all.
