Late in 2019 Communigrow, a Kent education charity based in East Malling, received a grant £5662 From The Mark Benevolent Fund.

More details on the work of Communigrow, which enables people of all ages and ability to gain skills and confidence in a creative environment and learn about how the natural world works, can be found in this website article from 2020.

As a result of this local grant from our national charity Communigrow have erected a 6m x 4m log cabin, (above). that can be used for a variety of purposes including preparation of veg boxes, a place to meet and shelter from the elements when required, and a secure and safe area particularly for any vulnerable young people and volunteers.

The charity recently wrote to us to say “We are hugely grateful to Kent Mark Master Masons and the Mark Benevolent Fund for their incredible support and generous grants which enabled us to get and build this beautiful log cabin. A wonderful dry space to keep learning resources and protect us from cold and rain. Volunteers and beneficiaries are thrilled with the new structure!”

Commenting on Communigrow’s Facebook page Donna Sellick said “This is going to be such a brilliant addition to the field . Thank you”, and Mandy Doran added “It looks absolutely amazing – well done!”.
