Dear Brethren,

I wish to announce a forthcoming change to our Mark Executive, which will become effective from the 4th March 2022.

W.Bro. Perri Ahmet, P.G.J.D., Deputy Provincial Grand Master

After almost nine years of faithful service, and having successfully fulfilled various Provincial roles, Perri Ahmet, has asked to stand down, so that he can focus his efforts on his business responsibilities.

As you will all know, Perri has been a key figure in the Province for many years and has served us with distinction as part of both the executive and the ceremonial team. During Perri’s tenure many new initiatives have been implemented that have had a positive effect on numerous aspects of our Province. Perri had a key role in delivering the outstanding work undertaken during the Covid pandemic by both the Membership and Welfare Committees, and he leaves a long standing and positive legacy in the ceremonial team, particularly in the areas of event organisation and providing direct assistance to Lodges in need of support.

Most notably Perri has bought a renewed enthusiasm to his role as the Chairman of the Kent Mark Benevolent Fund, a position that he will retain after standing down from active office. Through his leadership the KMBF have launched the patronage scheme, which will support our wider membership and the MBF for many years to come.

Perri’s legacy speaks for itself and the entire Province owes him a debt of gratitude for all he has contributed and delivered. As Provincial Grand Master, I would like to personally thank Perri for his support, and to wish him every success in the future.

W.Bro. Martyn Brian Summers, P.G.S.D.

Following Perri’s retirement, I am pleased to announce Martyn Summers as his successor.

This appointment will take effect from the 4th March 2022, and I look forward to investing Martyn in the near future.

Martyn is very well known throughout the Province having held several key positions, most recently as an Assistant Provincial Grand Master. He was Initiated into the Craft in 2001, in the General Gordon Lodge No. 4292. He was Advanced into Mark in Crane Lodge No. 1157 in 2005. He is also a member of a number of other Mark and R.A.M. Lodges in Kent, and is also an active supporter of other progressive Orders.

Martyn was appointed to R.A.M.G.R. in 2019, and initially to the Mark Grand Rank of G.Stwd. in 2018, where in 2021 he was promoted to P.G.S.D.

W.Bro. Trevor Marley Sharpe, P.A.G.D.C.

Following Martyn’s promotion, I am pleased to announce Trevor Sharpe as his successor. Trevor will take on the portfolio previously covered by Martyn and will assume direct responsibility for all Membership and Communication matters.

This appointment will take effect from the 4th March 2022, and I look forward to investing Trevor in the near future.

Trevor will no doubt be very well known to you all and he is a senior and highly experienced Freemason. He was Initiated into the Craft in 1995, in the Chillington Manor Lodge No. 4649. He was Advanced into Mark in Biggin Hill Lodge No. 1557 in 2001. He is also a member a number of other Mark and R.A.M. Lodges in Kent.

Trevor was appointed to Prov.R.A.M.G.R. in 2012, and to the Mark Grand Rank of P.A.G.D.C. in 2019. Trevor also holds the distinguished position as the District Grand Master for Royal and Select Masters, for the District of Kent. He also holds senior ranks in a number of other progressive Orders.

I know that you will join me in offering our best wishes to Perri for the future, and to wish Martyn and Trevor every success with their new responsibilities.

R.W.Bro. Peter David Williams
