Back in October, Bro. Robin Rudkin of The Erdemont Lodge of Mark Master Masons No.1894 arranged a joint quiz night with his Craft Lodge, Radiant Star 8967. He was assisted in this venture by Bro. Neil Rossiter also of The Erdemont Lodge.
The night was a tremendous success and raised £1,000 for the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice. £500 (the Craft share) of this was donated using the West Kent Provincial Legacy Fund, thereby ensuring that the 2026 Festival also benefitted by £500 in the name of Radiant Star Lodge.
On 7 December, members of the Lodges attended the Hospice and were met by Lucy Griffith-Searles, Community Relationships Fundraising Manager (left), and Melissa Trim, Trust & Foundations Manager (right), who gave them a tour of the facilities and showed them an example of the specialist bed that the £1,000 is funding. These beds are better for the patients and the staff and make a real difference to the quality of care provided by the excellent members of staff at the Hospice.
As well as Bro. Robin (far left) and Bro. Neil (third from left), the Worshipful Master of Radiant Star, W. Bro. Adam Harvey (second left), also attended, joined by the West Kent Provincial Charity Steward, W. Bro Steve Rozier, and West Kent Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Ian Gallehawk, both of whom happen also to be members of The Erdemont Lodge of Mark Master Masons 1894.
Many thanks to Robin for organising this successful event, raising more money for charity and helping the orders come a little closer together.
