Saturday January 29th saw the annual Kent Mark Burns Night take place at the Mercure Maidstone Great Danes hotel.
This year, some 185 guests, old and new, took their seats to enjoy the traditions of the evening. The presence of the Pro Grand Master, MW. Bro. Ray Smith, made the evening even more special and the traditional Burns Night activities took place within the spectacular setting of the main event hall.
As ever, the Address to the Haggis was delivered with great aplomb by our Provincial Grand Master, RW. Bro. Archie Torrance. With the Immortal memory being delivered by W. Bro. Tom Quinn, the Toast to the Lassies being proposed by our APGM, W. Bro. Perri Ahmet, with an excellent reply from Mrs Julie Beavers, the evening struck just the right note, leaving everyone happy to dance the night away to the excellent entertainment provided by our regular band ‘Whereâs Brian’. To round the evening off, some £3,953.00 was raised towards the 2020 Festival.
