Despite the cancellation of the 2020 London Marathon scheduled to be run on April 26th. W. Bro Jon Meyer has continued to train in the hope of a new date being set. You will have seen from previous articles posted on the Provincial website that Jon has found many ingenious ways to bolster his enthusiasm and keep his fitness levels up by running animal shapes in his local park.

Jon is now delighted to announce that a date for a virtual marathon, recognised by the organisers has been set for October 4th with a start time of 10am.

The London Marathon is a showcase event for world class athletes and fun runners alike. Some covet world records; some are there to achieve personal goals while the vast majority of those taking part are there to raise money for worthy causes. The common element that drives each runner on is the support from the crowd and the atmosphere of the occasion. Jon will be running this marathon alone and would dearly love to see as many “socially distanced” people as possible come along and support and cheer him on. It is hoped that many of the Provincial Exec will be there to cheer Jon over the finishing line so do try to join them and make this an event where you can say “I was there”.
Please mark this date in your diary and come along and support Jon.
