Saturday September 1st saw RW. Bro. Archie Torrance represent our Province at the Annual Meeting of the Netherlands at the Hotel-Restaurant Oud London in Zeist, near Utrecht. On this occasion RW. Bro. Archie was accompanied by W. Bro. Ivor Spencer, ProvGDC designate and W. Bro. Martyn Summers ProvDGDC along with Mrs Stephanie Spencer and Mrs Maggie Torrance.
In addition to attending the Mark Annual Meeting, the team also attended the Royal Ark Mariner District Grand Assembly.
As you would expect, at both meetings and throughout the whole weekend, the hospitality extended by our Dutch Brethren was of the highest quality.
In a special scenario very similar to that which happened in our own Province in 2013 when RW. Bro. Archie became PGM, with the appointment of RW. Bro. Cornelis (Kees) van Putten last year, it is very first time that there has ever been a District Grand Master and two Past DGMs at the same time.
On the Sunday the party spent a wonderful day in the beautiful city of Utrecht, exploring the streets, sights and canals; and sampling the wonderful food and wine, including their trademark frites and mayonnaise .
