Friday 8th March saw a very special day for the Mark Province of Kent. Two applications from the Province to the Mark Benevolent Fund Worthy Causes Committee had received approval.
Kent MS Therapy Centre

The Province was pleased to welcome W.Bro Darren Coleman–Heald, Charities Manager of the Mark Benevolent Fund, for the first visit of the day to the Kent MS Therapy Centre, where the Chief Executive, Keziah Cunningham, was presented with a cheque for £5,020.00, this being the sum required to refurbish their Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers. These chambers provide relief to people living with MS and are so popular that the chambers are in constant use every day. The grant will enable the centre to refurbish the two chambers, making the experience far more user friendly, relaxing and therapeutic. It was truly excellent to see this presentation made to an often invisible section of the community.
SERV Kent

The team then made its way to the headquarters of SERV Kent, the charity that conveys lifesaving blood, plasma and organs to patients in urgent need, where a cheque for £27,046 was presented to the Chair, Arthur Godden. This sum will be used by the charity to purchase a state of the art car, fully equipped to ensure that lifesaving items can be transported quickly and effectively to patients in urgent need.

The looks on the faces in the pictures really say it all in respect of how important these life-changing grants are.

Many thanks to everyone, who has supported the 2020 Festival so far. It was truly moving and humbling to see your donations to the tremendous works of the Mark Benevolent Fund making such a difference right here in the heart of Kent.
