Following on from the recent introduction to the Province’s new Deputy Provincial Grand Master, we thought that you would like to know more about W. Bro. Perri Ahmet PGStwd, our newest Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

W. Bro. Perri was born in East Dulwich Hospital in February 1967. He started life in Sydenham before moving to Rainham in Kent, then Bexleyheath and finally settling in Mottingham.

He attended what is now the Bexleyheath Academy and left at 15 to join the family business. At the age of just 21 he branched out on his own and now owns and runs three shoe repair, key cutting and locksmith businesses in around the south east London / north west Kent borders.

Perri is married to Aysen, they have two adult children – Cigdem, 27 and Tamer 24.

He says that Freemasonry is his only “hobby” but has dabbled with golf in the past. He also clocked up more than 40 hours towards a Private Pilot’s Licence a few years ago, but has not yet found the time to complete the qualification. Outside of Freemasonry Perri says that his only real passion is “eating good food and drinking equally good wine”, as can be seen above and probably explains why he was the driving force behind the re-invigoration of Greenwich Mark Lodge!

Masonically, Perri was initiated into Burnt Ash Lodge 6285 in Sidcup in 1999, exalted into Burnt Ash Chapter in 2000 and advanced into Temple Mark 322 in 2002 becoming Master in 2007. He was elevated into Temple R.A.M. in 2003 becoming Commander 2011.

Provincially, he was appointed Grand Steward in 2010, Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2013 and Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2016. In Mark Grand Lodge Perri was Grand Steward in 2016 and will be appointed to Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank in December.

In the Craft Perri was appointed Past Assistant Grand Standard Bearer in 2018.
