âThe Worshipful Commander and brethren of the Thanet R.A.M. Lodge No. 1073 were delighted to welcome the Deputy Provincial Grand Master VW. Bro. Fred Brown to their regular meeting held at the Masonic Hall, New Cross Street, Margate on November 1st 2018.

During the evening the Deputy Provincial Grand Master was treated to the ceremony of Elevation for Bro. David Jenkins from the St Peter-in-Thanet Mark Lodge No. 1053 which carried out in an excellent manor by the Worshipful Commander W. Bro. Nic Baker ably assisted by W. Bro. Adrian Corbridge and the brethren of the Lodge and all under the direction of the Lodge DC W. Bro. John Shervington.
Following the ceremony of Elevation, the DPGM informed the Lodge that he was delighted to present them with a 2020 Festival Silver certificate and thanked the brethren for their generosity, hard work and continued support for the Festival.

The Worshipful Commander then responded by presenting the DPGM with a cheque for £2,515 and said that he looked forward to inviting him back so he could present the lodge with a 2020 Festival Platinum certificate and an MBF Grand Patron Diamond award which the donated amount would now more than qualify them for. The money donated was made up from proceeds of the recent
fine dining evening and other charitable initiatives.
The rest of the lodge business was then completed before the lodge was closed and the brethren retired to a very enjoyable and cheerful festive board.
