Children’s Hospital Pyjamas is a UK-based charity which collects gifts of brand new pyjamas from the public, which they then donate to hospitals, hospices and women’s refuges across the UK. These are then given to poorly or less fortunate children who are inpatients.

The KMBF recently received a petition from Sandwich Haven Lodge of Mark Master Masons for a joint-funding donation to the charity to specifically support the Paediatric A&E Deptartment at Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital. A petition that it was glad to support, especially at Christmas.

The lodge donated £100 to the Children’s Hospital Pyjama Charity, which the KMBF was delighted to match through its joint-funding programme meaning that £200 of pyjamas could be purchased.

No child wants to be in a hospital, but if they have to be, they do not want to be wearing a hospital gown. All children who are inpatients in the charity’s receiving hospitals, including the William Harvey based here in Kent, for whatever reason will be gifted a brand new pair of comfy pyjamas to make them feel a little more at home.

Local area co-ordinator, Emma Bishop, told us “The Pyjamas are donated and sent with love, so that each child who receives a pair, knows that someone is wishing them a speedy recovery and is thinking of them.”
