On Tuesday 14th December 2021, Broadstairs’ St Peter-In-Thanet Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1053 celebrated its 75th Anniversary in style with an Installation Meeting in the presence of W.Bro. Martyn Summers A.Prov.G.M. and an escort of active Provincial Grand Lodge officers.
With the outgoing Worshipful Master, Martin Jones, being unavoidably absent due to Covid-19 W.Bro. John Lacey Installed V.W.Bro. Fred Brown P.Dep.Prov.G.M. as the Lodge’s 75th Worshipful Master.
After the business of the meeting, W.Bro. Andrew Fox presented an entertaining and enlightening history of the Lodge’s first 75 years and its connections to the town. Although the consecration of the Lodge in 1946 had been overseen by The Lord Harris, Andrew noted that many of the Founders came from Ramsgate’s Holmesdale Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 129, who coincidentally had celebrated their Sesquicentenary only two months previously.
