Thanet based Community Lifesavers is a social action not-for-profit project run by trained volunteers. They deliver free training in CPR and using defibrillators to Year 7 students in schools, the community, clubs, and businesses. Proudly turning bystanders into lifesavers.
Since 2023 they have successfully delivered their unique, free, one-hour awareness sessions to over 3000 Year 7 secondary school students. They also help in the community, teaching groups like scouts, community societies and sports clubs, believing that anyone can become a lifesaver.
Community Lifesaver’s Steve Turner, contacted Barry Carter, Worshipful Master of St Peter in Thanet Lodge of Mark Master Masons to see if they could assist in the funding new teaching equipment, to enable them to continue to deliver their critical work. The Lodge agreed to donate £250 and approached the KMBF for support under its matched-funding scheme, which the Trustees were happy to agree to.
Thanking Barry and the KMBF for the donation, Steve explained that “We are so grateful for this donation which has enabled us to purchase an advanced resuscitation training aid called a Brayden Manikin Pro.”
As can be seen above Barry, accompanied by KMBF Chair Fred Brown, recently visited Community Lifesavers to present them with a cheque for £500.
