A charity walk has been organised by Mark Grand Lodge to support the Mark Benevolent Fund and is hoped will raise in the region of £100,000. If achieved this will give a great boost to the fund raising efforts in support many worthy causes including the Hope for Tomorrow Charity which will in turn align with the Sesquincentenary celebrations of the MBF in 2018.

Each Province in the UK will enter a team to walk “The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk” which will start and finish at Mark Masons Hall. This seven mile circular walk is charted by 90 plaques set in the ground and passes in sight of many famous buildings and locations associated with the Princess during her life.

The Mark Province of Kent have gathered together their finest Kentish Men and Men of Kent to take part in this sponsored walk raising funds in support of the Mark Benevolent Fund. The Kent team will be led by RW Bro. Archie Torrance, Provincial Grand Master, ably supported by members of the Provincial Executive; all finely-tuned athletes who are eager to go! This august band of men will march under the team name of “Torrance’s Trekkers”.

“Torrance’s Trekkers” ask for the continued support of the Lodges and Brethren of Kent by sponsoring the team’s efforts to help raise money for the Mark Benevolent Fund. Lodge sponsorship will count towards Lodge MBF honorifics and 2020 Festival Awards. Individual sponsorship will count towards personal MBF honorifics and, in our case, towards our own Lodge 2020 Festival Awards. Please remember to use gift aid where appropriate to increase your donation by 25%. (If you pay income tax at higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your gift aid donations on your self-assessment tax return or ask HMRC to adjust your tax code).

Good luck to the Kentish men and men of Kent who make up “Torrance’s Trekkers” and thank you in advance for your kind and generous support.
